Jaime King intends to inspire with gender-bending kids clothing line, Gardner and the Gang
King teamed with Singapore-based, Swedish designer Kristin Nystrom of Gardner and the Gang for the natural, gender-free capsule collection. There are dresses that boys can use, pants for women, and the patterns are not gender-specific either. Anything and everything can be for children and ladies.
(We) get an opportunity to send that message to children and their moms and dads that it’s OK, whatever you want to wear. You’re gorgeous the way you are, stated Nystrom in a current interview.
King stated that message is especially appropriate amid the on-going dispute over restroom access for transgender individuals.
Our objective is never ever to be political, however we are speaking inherently to exactly what the problems are within the world and we put on to avoid that. Like the reality is, we have significant problems in regards to exactly what’s happening with the transgender neighborhood, said King.
I have several good friends that have children that put on t identify with the bodies that they were born in and that was a big reason why I wanted to do this. And I have since gotten amazing messages from them thanking me for doing something that to me I felt was my civic task to do.
King practices what she preaches by commemorating her kid’s bold style choices.
Yesterday he desired red hair so he spray-painted his hair red with shine, she said of 2-year-old James Knight. And all the kids are like James Knight! It’s actually remarkable how at like 2 years and 10 months this kid is truly specific about what he desires to wear, however I enjoy that!
